Elon Musk and his Space X crew just finished a successful test flight of Falcon Heavy, in which a payload of —and I'm not shitting you —a Tesla Roadster with a dummy driver, dressed in a Space X spacesuit! The launched sends this unusual voyager on a trajectory towards Mars, starting a journey, estimated to last for a MILLION years.
WHAT!!!?
I had my jaw dropped the whole time I was watching it live on Youtube; the sheer audacity of that plan, not to mention watching two of the three reusable rocket engines land back standing onto the ground in perfect unison. This is simply the greatest event I have ever seen!
I am still in too much awe to blog more about the details, so I'll just let you watch the launch from Space X's livestream.
